Academy Tower Crane
We will be erecting our second and final tower crane for the Academy Project on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October.
Due to a plant movement order the mobile crane and lifting team will be arriving between 6am and 7am on Saturday 19 October. It will be driving into site through our delivery vehicle gates on Northport Street where the vehicle will be switched off until our start on site at 8am. The mobile crane will start setting up from 8am.
Due to the duration of erection we will need to work until approximately 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. We will not start works on Sunday 20 October until 10am in line with London Borough of Hackney restrictions. The tower cranes will need to be erected on a weekend due to the amount of disruption it would cause to the local community surrounding area if this was being undertaken at peak times. Morgan Sindall Construction always want to ensure the safety of the public and due the size of delivery vehicles coming to site, it is always safer to undertake this work at the weekend as the roads are less busy.
The mobile crane will be positioned on site but all delivery vehicles will be unloaded from the pit lane on Hyde Road. All vehicle engines will be switched off when stationary. The crane was installed out of hours as explained for safety reasons but it now completes all tower crane installations for the academy project.
