Jason Anker MBE visit
We had Jason Anker visit site on 13 October to give a talk on his accident to our site teams. Jason was paralysed from the waist down due to an accident on a construction site in 1993 when he was just 24 years old. He has since used his experience to talk about the importance of site safety at construction events and schools.
There were two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. The Sports Hall in the existing leisure centre was the perfect space acoustically and for social distancing measures to accommodate operatives within the new outlined guidance from the government.
We have invited Jason to speak on a number of our sites and his story is incredibly powerful. For anyone who hasn’t heard Jason’s story he has a number of videos on YouTube and has details on his website https://www.jasonankerlive.com/about_jason/. Over 100 people attended in total over the two sessions with many people wanting to speak to Jason at the end of the session.
