Covid-19 update
In compliance with government advice, we are continuing to operate our Hackney Britannia sites, this decision has been taken in consultation with our project stakeholders and our client Hackney Council.
The safety and wellbeing of our team and community is imperative and we have strengthened precautionary measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our workforce and neighbours, including minimising the numbers of individuals on site at any one time. Physical distancing protocols are also in place for meetings, briefings, communal areas and site welfare facilities. Trained traffic marshals are now in place at every site entrance and exit point to ensure safe distancing is maintained at key pedestrian crossing points around the perimeter of the site.
You may have noticed the yellow lines installed outside of our site entrance on Grange Street, these are to ensure safe waiting distances for our teams when they arrive on site. Our teams have been given allocated arrival times to greater enforce social distancing measures.
Inside our site we have created separate staircases for going up and down the site office and construction sites with one way routes, avoiding the need for our teams to have to pass each other.
We have trebled the number of site cleaners on the project and limited the number of people that can use the site changing rooms and toilets at any one time in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
Our site kitchen is now closed, our welfare facilities now have staggered times for our site teams to use with a limit of 1 person per table imposed by a full time social distancing monitor in our canteen. Around our project we have numerous hand sanitiser points and mobile hand wash facilities for our construction teams to use.
All visitors to site are now limited, and site meetings carried out remotely using technology. Any ‘on site’ meetings are now held outside in the open with 2 metre clearance between participants.
We are following government guidance closely and we continue to review and monitor the measures that are in place to ensure the safety of our team and our community. If you would like any further information please use the Contact Us section of our project microsite.
