Gopsall and Northport Street district heating
Please note: You may also wish to download the letter sent to residents.
From Monday 19 August we’ll commence the next phase of our work to install new district heating and other essential services as part of our Britannia project, starting from Gopsall Street towards Northport Street for a period of six weeks.
What are we doing?
The area of road we’ll be digging up to install all four of the new services (water, heating, gas and electric) in one trench is marked in red on the image below. We have chosen this method to minimise the disruption from installing the services separately.
We will, at all times, maintain access for residents that live in Gopsall Street, Mawson Court and ensure the emergency vehicles are able to get in and out if required.
We requested permission from Hackney Council’s parking team for the suspension of the bays on Gopsall Street. We will always maintain access to residents’ driveways and entrance to Mawson Court. There will be very limited access to the Gopsall Street entrance to Shoreditch Park Primary School and no availability for parent drop offs by car on that road during this work. Pedestrian access will be open at all times.
How long will the work take?
The work will take approximately six weeks starting from Monday 19 August and the working hours will be Monday – Friday 08:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 08:00 to 13:00.
The traffic management will be in place prior to us starting works on Monday with directional and diversion signs in place around our works and deliveries will use our existing routes, shown on the map below.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Community Liaison Manager Dalia Islam on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07976 587 990.
We sincerely apologise for any disturbance this may cause you and we will do everything possible to minimise any disruption.
