Changes to our delivery routes
From next week, we’ll be making some changes to the way construction traffic flows around the Britannia site as we work to install new district heating, electricity, gas and water services on Pitfield Street.
We’ll be closing Pitfield Street to all motor vehicles – including construction vehicles – to enable us to get this work done as quickly as possible over the summer break and minimise disruption. The two-way Cycle Superhighway will remain open, and access to Clinger Court will be available.
This means that until 3 September, all construction vehicles leaving our site will now turn left onto Pitfield Street, then left onto Hyde Road, and right onto Bridport Place – before joining the main road network away from the area. You can see this route on the map below.
The existing arrangements on Hyde Road, including the pedestrian crossing improvements we’ve made in response to your feedback, will remain in place.
We appreciate that for some residents this will mean a temporary increase in traffic, but this work is vital. Without closing Pitfield Street to all traffic, the work would take longer to complete and would cause more disruption.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, and we’ll do everything possible to minimise any disruption.
If you have any questions about this, or any other matters relating to our construction work, please contact our community liaison manager Dalia Islam on 07976 587 990 or dalia.islam@morgansindall.com.
