Hyde Road zebra crossing and Pitfield Street works
Hyde Road zebra crossing
On Saturday 6 July the zebra crossing on the corner of Hyde Road / Pitfield Street will be temporarily out of action for one day only. This is to allow the new services to be installed across the road below. The works are being carried out on a Saturday at the request of the Streetscene Highways team when the road is quieter.
We will commence these works at 8am and they will be complete by 5pm. As this will involve working past our agreed Saturday working hours, we have sought permission from the Hackney Environmental Health team on this one occasion to work until 5pm.
There will be traffic marshals present throughout the duration of the works to help with crossing the road while the zebra crossing is out of action.
The traffic flow on Hyde Road is not affected and will remain open as usual.

New services installation to Pitfield Street
With the new services installation works nearing completion on Hyde Road on Monday 8 July we will commence the installation of new services to Pitfield Street, working from Hyde Road towards Mintern Street, as shown below.
The services will be installed partly in the footpath on Pitfield Street and partly in the road. We are installing all of the district heating, electric, water and gas services in on trench to minimise the disruption from installing the services.
Please be assured that vehicle access into Clinger Court and the Cycle Super Highway will be maintained at all times during these works.
