Signage and barriers review
You may have noticed some minor tweaks to the signage and barriers around the project. We’ve had some review meetings with Transport for London, Hackney Streetscene and the Metropolitan Police to see if our traffic flow measures could be improved now they’ve been in place for two weeks.
This time we invited some residents to join us on a walkaround of local streets to view the traffic flow measures from a vulnerable road user’s perspective, and focus on the interaction between pedestrians and cyclists. Six residents joined us for this review.
As you can see from the photo above and on our timeline page, we’ve installed additional ramps on Hyde Road, and traffic cones on the footpath to give greater protection to the segregation between cyclists and the footpaths.
Overall everyone agreed this was a very positive walkaround. One resident commented that it gave them a better understanding of the delivery challenges we must consider when constructing in the local area.
